Gunung Batur

Gunung Batur last erupted in 2000, and that along with frequent eruptions in the past pretty much devastated the vegetation around the mountain. However, a small patch of the forest seems to have survived and thriving. It is still an active volcano and one can trek up there pretty easily. This is one of the most common tourist traps, however, I hear firsthand information that life is lot less hectic if one goes down to the lake. To the right is Gunung Abang.
