Photo Gallery – Chinese Opera

Well it was unplanned, happenstance and I did not have a decent camera either… But some pictures none the less.

Chinese Opera owner, backstage. Tallying up accouts and planning logistics.
Chinese opera singer, backstage. At her make up table.
Chinese Opera singers, backstage.
Chinese Opera. General plotting an attach on China.
Catching some z's. I should guess that the guy is getting some well deserved rest after a hard day setting up the stage and manging logistics.
And here is the first stage makeup me thinks. I would love to do a 'day in the life' documentary. It seems like a hard life, makeshift stages and a poor attendance does not stop the professionals from putting their best foot forward.
Such a bummer without a good camera. The actress / opera singer is in the final stages of makeup before going on stage.
Music Ensemble. The nice thing about old school performance is the creativity. The percussionist has a bunch of contraptions that he very meticulously caresses and strokes to create the background score.
On stage performers with the director (or stage hand) keeping a close eye on the proceedings.

Photo Gallery – Sunset @ Endau Rompin, Malaysia

A short weekend road trip to Endau Rompin. It rained on my hiking plans but still I enjoy being on the east coast of the peninsula. Who wouldn’t with stunning visuals on display :)

Last in the Sunset Series. Endau Rompin, Malaysia.
Sunset in panorama. Though this the tropics, you can get dramatic sunsets post a thunderstorm. Here is one in a panorama, stitched from 4 images. Endau Rompin, Malaysia.
Sunset, The foreground was a fresh palm plantation and I have gotten sick of palm by this time... Endau Rompin, Malaysia.
Storm Clouds near Endau Rompin, Malaysia
It was a heavy downpour in the Taman Negiri Endau Rompin. One can not go on any hikes in this weather. But driving around has its benifits. There is this tree that looks like a pig sitting on a perch (who said pigs can't fly). I also sighted a Tapir, in the wild. Wohoo, thats a sight to behold... No pictures though the feller was extremely shy. Endau Rompin, Malaysia.
Landscape in Mono. During every visit to Malaysia I cannot help but feel that the landscape has changed. The scale of deforestation is simply mind boggling. Endau Rompin, Malaysia.

Photo Gallery – Bike trip, road trip et al, USofA 2010.

Recently, I was in the Pacific NW riding the bike and having a generally merry time. Not sure I have anything to intrest the audience here but for a start, here is a photo gallery. I will look for stories to write when inspiration strikes :)

Wildflower. Hillsboro, OR, USA.
Wild flowers are all over the place. Would be nice to live in one of the shacks back there. Hillsboro, OR, USA.
Logie Trail should be the toughest climb I cound do on a Brommie. I had to pretend to stop and take pictures to catch my breath. Hillsboro, OR, USA
Isn't is much fun to cycle along fields of wild flowers... This was fun in the flats once the hills started, there was little energy to admire the scenery. Hillsboro, OR, USA
Diamond Lake, OR, USA. Panorama from 6 images.
Crater Lake, OR, USA. Panorama from 6 images.
Swim but stay away from sunburn. The temp was 30C+ and the water was a cool 4-5C. Crater Lake, OR, USA.

Nuff said. Let them swim in peace. Crater Lake, OR, USA.
Almost an abstract study. I thought it might make a good print some day. Crater lake, OR, USA.
Critters need to be photographed :) Crater Lake, OR, USA.
Enroute to Crater lake. We wanted to bike this route. But, really, look at how far the road goes (40 miles) And it was constantly climbing. Good thing we chose this to be a rest day. Crater Lake, OR, USA.

In the meantime, enjoy!
